For those interested in Green Party history and Howie's role in it, here is C-SPAN coverage of the new conference announcing the formation of the Green Party USA in 1991. This step was preceded by seven years of organizing local Green groups in the Green Committees of Correspondence, which were formed at a meeting in St. Paul, Minnesota in August 1984 in which Howie participated. The Green Party USA was one of the predecessors of the current national Green Party of the United States.
