Howie Hawkins, the Green Party candidate for Governor, will hold two news conferences in Westchester on Friday, October 8.

The first news conference in Peekskill will include Hawkins' proposals for climate change policy for NYS, including the fate of Indian Point and nuclear power plants. Indian Point is visible from the waterfront park. Hawkins will also speak on his support for a ban on hydrofracking for natural gas and why natural gas is not a bridge to a carbon free future.

The second conference will focus on Hawkins' plans for county property tax relief, Medicaid and a WPA style jobs program as part of his Green New Deal agenda.

Hawkins is a lifelong peace and justice activist. The only union member running for Governor, he is a Teamster who unloads trucks for UPS.
