Interview with Susan Arbetter

The Capitol Pressroom Program
Posted on September 8, 2010

The Labor Movement has seen enormous changes over the last 100 years – from Eugene V. Debs to the labor unrest in the 1970’s thru all the changes that NAFTA brought to US manufacturing, the world is a very different place than it was when Upton Sinclairs The Jungle hit the public in 1906. But while nationally some people are signaling the death of the labor movement, here in NY, we appear to be bucking the trend. On today’s program we discuss the future of labor; immigrants and the labor movement; the private sector versus the public sector labor movement, healthcare and class solidarity with 3 guests steeped in all of these issues.
