The Buffalo News

Ralph Nader comes to town today to let us know that there's someone running for governor who isn't named Cuomo, Lazio or Paladino. He's Howie Hawkins, who will appear on the Green Party line in November. Hawkins, who is a labor activist in Syracuse, was one of the founders of the Green Party back in 1984 and was the Green Party candidate for U.S. Senate in 2006. Nader and Hawkins appear at 7 p.m. in the Dnipro Ukrainian Cultural Center, 562 Genesee St., to discuss issues and answer questions. Doors open at 6. Admission is free, with a suggested donation of $5.
