Green party candidate Howie Hawkins earns a spot on the ballot in the race for Congress.
Hawkins filed more than 6,000 signatures with the state Board of Elections in support of his candidacy.

He will run against Democrat Dan Maffei and Republican Dale Sweetland.

Hawkins' platform focuses on the United State's withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan, and a national health insurance plan.

This will be the 14th time Hawkins runs for office.

He previously ran for Syracuse mayor, Common Council and the US Senate.
